Product development: Assisted with prototype debugging and testing of an industrial computer for specialized high-speed machine control. The development process had bogged down with unreliable operation of the processor interface to memory and I/O. With critical projects pending for the new product, the consulting engagement targeted both meeting the eminent deliveries as well as resolving problems for mass production of the circuit boards.
The consulting work involved identifying and measuring precise timing pulses within the memory controller, and with the associated digital/analog interface to the high speed equipment. Once the problems were identified and resolved, further work involved improving the specifications for key components for ongoing product production.
